We know you read Ovi in your
spare time and may chuckle at some of miniscule efforts to affect
the word in which we live, but as one of our guest writers says:
it's not about saving the world; it's about being part of the
"change" and becoming a team member. A team member,
hmmm, would you call yourself a team player, God?
If you are, then whose side are you on? From terrorist acts the
world has suffered in the last few years in your name has put
doubts if you are even in the game at all. What am I saying? The
last few years is nothing, let's just take the BBC today!
At least 54 people are killed in a suicide bomb attack near a
mosque in Musayyib, south of Baghdad.
A blast on a minibus in the Turkish resort of Kusadasi kills at
least five, including one British and one Irish woman.
Three British soldiers have been killed by a roadside bomb while
serving in Iraq, the MoD has confirmed.
Hallelujah! Where's my Bible? My apologies, perhaps I am being
too cynical about your role in all of this. I think if my name
was being used as the excuse to commit acts of horror then I would
step forward and have some words with those responsible.
Anyway, I emigrated from the UK because I didn't like what was
happening to my country, then on July 7th, further weight was
given to my argument and it gave me some comfort that my daughter,
born the day before, arrived on this planet via sleepy Finland.
Naturally, I asked myself what the world will be like as she grows
up and will life ever get better.
My wife, ever the optimist, fears it won't change, but will become
worse and was already banning our 20-hour-old daughter from deciding
to move to England and live in London when she thinks she can
make her own decisions.
I guess the world is now waiting for the star player, the spine
of the global team to make an appearance and deal out some of
that stuff called hope. Hope is all the world have left, but the
amount of people that trust in that is fading - just ask the families
and friends of the 49 killed and 700 injured in the London attacks.
